The Herschel-HIFI Instrument Observing Modes and Astronomical Observation Templates (AOTs)

We present the observing modes that have been developed for maximizing the science to be obtained from the HIFI instrument on board Herschel during operations. The set of Astronomical Observation Templates and time estimator based on these observing modes are also illustrated.
