Abstract
We discuss the properties of extrasolar planets inferred from
observations and theoretical models. We show that COROT should be able
to usefully constrain the albedos of extrasolar planets with short
orbital periods, given levels of stellar variability close to that of
the Sun. We sketch possible strategies for observational astrophysical
programs using high contrast imaging.
